This is only an outline planning proposal.
The future owner and developer will have to apply for detailed planning permission in the future.
Securing outline planning approval is an important step in establishing the value of the site. Establishing the value of the site is likely to enable Plymouth University to progress towards disposal of the site.
REL is keen that there is a lively debate across Exmouth and east Devon on the balance of housing, community, education and business development on the site. The REL initial press release on the announcement of the public consultation is here.
The Plymouth University announcement of the public consultation is here.
The Plymouth University statement on Plymouth University’s relationship with the Rolle site is here.
It is important that the people of Exmouth and east Devon enter the debate now.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, once it has gone it has gone.
REL has developed plans for how the site might create more jobs, develop the economy and provide wider education opportunities whilst raising the profile of Exmouth and the region.
